With the PO 45 pulse oximeter from Beurer you can measure your values reliably, easily and painlessly. Oxygen saturation (SpO₂), heart rate (pulse), as well as perfusion index (PI) are easy to read on the color display. In the event of a restless measurement, you will be informed by a symbol display, so that the measurement can be carried out again for reliable values.
The human organism requires approx. 400L Oxygen (O2) (Source: Rosemarie Baumann, Physiology) Oxygen keeps the body's cells alive and functioning. To transport this amount of oxygen, a transport substance is required, hemoglobin. The hemoglobin contained in the red blood cells stores the oxygen. How is oxygen saturation determined?
The oxygen saturation can be measured without blood drain. The color of the blood allows conclusions about oxygen saturation:
Bright red: high oxygen saturation. Dark red: low oxygen saturation.
The oxygen saturation provides information about how much percent of hemoglobin in the arterial blood is loaded with oxygen. It is therefore an important parameter for assessing the respiratory function. People with a low oxygen saturation rate are experiencing more symptoms: shortness of breath, heart rate increase, loss of performance, nervousness and sweating.

What does the Perfusion Index say?
The perfusion index provides information about the blood circulation value of your finger. Based on the pulse strength, this indicates how much blood flows in a certain period of time. Measuring the perfusion index is important as too low a value can affect your measurement results. For reliable results, know your normal value. You can find out this using measurements under different conditions, such as activity level or measuring location. In general, the perfusion index can be between 0.3% and 20%, but the optimal value varies from person to person.
The pulse oximeter can be used in the measuring range of:
SpO₂: 70 - 100%, pulse: 30 - 250 beats per minute, PMI: 0.3 - 20%.
The following measurement accuracy is achieved:
