I use one pill as I dont know how strong 2 will be but one gets me drowsy fast as Im a person who actually feels like staying up at night rather than getting sleep. I can get at least 5 to 6 hrs on 1 pill. Ive not challenged 2 pills because 5 or 6 hrs is really ok with me. So I say they do work.

This is the first OTC sleep aid I have encountered that actually works. I am a chronic insomniac who has tried just about everything under the sun that is OTC. Sominex, Nature's Harvest Sleep 3, Nature's Harvest + Stress, Relaxium, Olly Sleep Aid, Qunol 5 in 1 Sleep Support, Carlyle 12 mg Melatonin, Zquill , Solaray Valerian Root extract, Benedryl, Equate Night Time Sleep Aid, Vitamin Magnesium Complex and nothing worked for me.I found the reviews for Alteril Gel caps on Amazon, had tremendous reviews so I thought what have I got to lose? I used to average 3 to 4 days of non sleep and only through exhaustion, I would manage several troubled hours of rest.The Alteril Gel caps are not available at any stores, I checked. Stores carry the tablet and was ineffective. I don't know what the difference in chemical make up but you take 2 capsules a night with the Gel caps. Third day using Alteril soft caps and its the first time in a very long time that I have had three days of restful, sleep. I have not experienced ANY lingering side effects as I dId with SOLARAY's Valarian Root capsules. Best OTC on market as far as my experience.Update September 8th 2022. As some other customers have experienced, I started to develop a tolerance for Alteril which took longer for me to sleep. I have been prescribed Sonata from my family physician but I alternate between Alteril and Sonata . I eliminated Qunol Sleep from my rotation regime and so far this combination seems to work. Experimenting with one capsule of Vitalitown magnesium complex to see if it improves the quality of sleep. Will keep you updated.

I buy ALTERIL because it WORKS. Here’s why it works: it contains L-tryptophan, melatonin, valerian root extract and chamomile extract. One may argue that 200 mg of L-tryptophan is a rather low amount but it is a combination of these four ingredients that makes Alteril so effective. A one month supply hovered around $18 ever since it first came on the market years ago. Now the price is seven dollars lower. No where else can one buy this product anywhere near this good of a price.

I start yawning about an hour after taking. Fall asleep fast. Wake up without feeling groggy. They smell funky, but who cares. Zzzzz.

I take it out in the morning and lay it on my bed stand so That evening it doesn’t smell as bad but it works

I am a true insomniac so as you can imagine I have tried numerous products and prescriptions and at times I stop prescriptions and alternate to allteril and they seem to work well for a couple of days, then back to prescriptions.

I really like the fact that this a natural sleep aid. Helps me sleep.

Haven't tried it myself, as I bought this to help a family member and he told me it helped him sleep.

I quit my prescription sleep aid to try this and it works amazingly well. Very surprised, works fast and all night. Best sleep in years. I don't rate products on here often but this one was worth the time!! You won't be disappointed.

The problem I have is falling back asleep when I wake up at night to go to the bathroom. I tried many suppliments. This has been the best one to help with this problem.

Not sure that these do anything. My sleeping problems are erratic and they're still erratic even when using this product. May work for others; doesn't do much for me.

Alteril sleep aid is working for my husband to sleep. We have been trying different things and this works and is not sedating the next day

There are several formations of Alteril and it's hard to find the one I want when some of the listings do not even post those details for the buyer to see. What I just received is not the product I've been using - and that one has worked very well for me.

Price is steep & need to offer more in a package at a lesser price.
